No, it doesn't ... Firefox native password store is of course heavily encrypted (although with only optional password, true).
Otherwise, +1 to comment 66 ... unless the solution works with Firefox Sync (and thus with all those smartphones/tables) it couldn't be IMHO a part of the native Firefox.
