Revision 1110 improves this. Basically, there is a huge list of browser/im client/music player/terminal launchers (with a specific ordering) and the first one it finds, it uses.

So this definitely fixes problems like having Pidgin default when people dont even have it installed. Also KDE users should be happy as the KDE apps are in there. GNOME takes precedent over KDE though so users with both installed get the GNOME apps.

In the future we will look into querying the system to ask it what to use. *Maybe* querying Do/Zeitgeist to ask for most commonly used apps.
