Comment 56 for bug 349519

Unfortunately no luck at all.
New install of latest release 9.04
Instructions above give various errors:

sudo dpkg -i desktop-switcher_0.4.4-1ubuntu2_i386.deb
FILE NOT FOUND

gconftool-2 --set /desktop/gnome/session/required_components_list --type list --list-type=string ["windowmanager","panel","filemanager"]
VALUE REQUIRED

Tried to download all updates - nothing there.
:-( :-(

Still issues with desktop switching. Also you lose the ability to resize windows (along with the top-right corner "close" "x" button) - try for example the calculator. The desktop size becomes smaller than the screen.....too many bugs.

I'm just a newbie here but this is too hard (spend 2 days carried out at least 6 format/rebuild cycles). Will try getting the full ubuntu version installed instead.
