I think Michael pushed the fixed i18n data also to intrepid-proposed on 2008-12-15: https://lists.ubuntu.com/archives/intrepid-changes/2008-December/thread.html. They look fine mostly to me, ie. when using intrepid-proposed repository, so they should be again copied to intrepid-updates now. About everything that is translated with jaunty repositories is now also translated with intrepid-proposed.
The only exception to "looks fine" is ubuntu-restricted-extras, which is still fully non-translated in intrepid, including the short description. But it's good in jaunty, so hopefully not indicative of any bigger problem. Anyway, the strings have not changed now in intrepid -> jaunty, so there should be no reason for the omission of those in the version that intrepid-proposed has.
