It's been on the backburner while I've been working on other things for
2.0: easier migration, better GUI tools and docs. I'll unassign myself
from this bug given I'm not currently working on it.
It won't be (directly) fixed in 2.0 though other performance
improvements might have had a positive side effect. Is the bug impacting
you? If so, perhaps you could collect some profiling data and attach it
to the bug report?
