Bug Description

After updating my Kubuntu 11.04 to 11.10 on my desktop I am unable to move (drag) primitives inside the Filters Editor tree.

I have the same problem with Inkscape fresh build and fresh install of Ubuntu 11.10, Kubuntu 11.10 and Xubuntu 11.10 (three independent systems on different partitions) on my Eee PC 1215P

Very annoying to create new filters or modify existing ones.

Not reproduced on Mac OS X nor on Ubuntu - see the related thread on the mailing list:

Could there be a relation to Bug #885224 “Inkscape user interface functions don't work”?
<https://bugs.launchpad.net/inkscape/+bug/885224>

(also refers to UI issues in Inkscape after upgrading from Kubuntu 11.04 to 11.10)

Yes there is a relation with https://bugs.launchpad.net/inkscape/+bug/885224 and changing GTK Appearence to Raleigh solve the problem !

My report was wrong about Ubuntu and Xubuntu. It works in these systems and the problem is only related to GTK Applications Appearence in Kubuntu.

Did you also have the same issues with other UI widgets not responding as described in bug #885224 or was only the DnD of the filter editor dialog affected on your system?

No I didn't have problems with Fill and Stroke or Align like described in bug #885224

Salut Nicolas,

ivan

@Ivan - any updates on this issue? Does it still persists under current KDE? If so, which custom GTK2 themes under KDE exactly trigger it? If limited to oxygen-gtk, does the workaround described in this comment help in any way?

@Maggio - any progress or patches available for Inkscape 0.91 or current trunk?

Unfortunately no progress there in 0.91 and Trunk. And the workaround 1109812 doesn't change anything in Kubuntu 14.04
