Hi Albert, thanks for the bug report!

I've moved the bug to the correct package (mesa), confirmed it, and marked it as 'Low' importance, as the message show does no (real) harm to the system.

An updated version of mesa is expected to be uploaded in a few days, when Mesa 6.5.1 is officially released - when this happens, we'll be able to get rid of this message.

I still don't get 3D acceleration with the 6.5.1 mesa packages... no glxgears... nothing. This is a savage card. Anything I can try?

The warning has nothing to do with the actual problem. The warning as reported in the original report has been fixed.

3D acceleration works now with final Edgy packages. Still no beryl though. can close.

The warning is NOT fixed in the latest Feisty. Here is what I get too for my Intel 945:
eugenia@inspiron:~$ glxgears

That error message is totally harmless. Still, leaving the bug open until upstream has fixed it.

      - a patch from upstream which fixes OpenGL viewport misplacement
        on Unichrome (LP: #93362)
     112_fedora-hush-synthetic-visual-warning.patch
      - Hush the (useless) warning about the synthetic visual not being
        supported. (LP: #58929)
   * debian/control: libgl1-mesa-dri now suggests libglide3, with an
     explanation in the description (LP: #44115)
