Bug Description
As you can see in the attached screenshot the initial bootscreen of the live cd is not completely localized.
The top part of the picture is a screenshot of this screen of todays UNE iso (20100224.2), for all languages the first two items remain in english, the others are translated.
The bottom part is a screenshot of todays Desktop live cd (20100224), there this first item is in english in all languages.

Hi Markus,
Thanks a lot for reporting this.
The bootloader, debian-installer and ubiquity cannot make use of language packs, so translations need to be manually exported from Launchpad to the source package. The developers do take care of translations and this from time to time, but it seems the testing period coincided with a time when the latest translations have not yet made it to the package.
The string itself is translatable, and translated in German and in many other languages:
https:/ /translations. launchpad. net/ubuntu/ lucid/+ source/ gfxboot- theme-ubuntu/ +pots/bootloade r/de/+translate ?batch= 10&show= all&search= try+ubuntu
I'm leaving the task open just to keep an eye on it, but I think this will simply be fixed on the next gfxboot- theme-ubuntu version where translations are exported and put in the sources.
