'Master Front' needs to be added to analog output paths

asked to file a new bug report after offering a workaround in another bug: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/pulseaudio/+bug/430937

installing gnome-alsamixer and increasing the very low volume fixes the problem.
