Bug Description
Binary package hint: software-center
When I try to install a program with software center and synaptic open, installation are blocked with 0%. When I close synaptic, installation continue just fine, but it could be nice to have a message to inform the user that he needs to close synaptic to continue the installation.

I believe this bug has been fixed with Lucid's software-center: The In-progress text will display a message along the lines of:
"Waiting for other package managers to quit"
