Bug Description
Binary package hint: humanity-icon-theme
The gray panel icons in humanity (volume, networking, messaging and session menu) lack contrast when put on a white panel (which is still the default on the desktop as far as I know). The messaging menu icon is the worst, it's almost invisible.
On a related note, the five status icons are all gray and all have the same shape. It's hard to tell the difference between them.

Counter to what you have reported the bubbles are quite different. the indicator session is broken as of now and is not setting the correct status.
