Bug Description

Binary package hint: msttcorefonts

Upon upgrading from Ubunto 8.10 to 9.04 snapshot 5, ttf-mscorefonts-installer (2.6) failed. This made me panic of course, a message said something about the distribution being possibly inoperative since the dist upgrade had encountered a mistake.

Could it be just because the dist upgrade rendered my internet connection temporarily inoperative, and thus the ttf-mscorefonts-installer could not download the fonts? When I reran apt-get for something else later (after rebooting), it displayed the following:
          Traitement des actions différées (« triggers ») pour « man-db »...
          Paramétrage de ttf-mscorefonts-installer (2.6) ...
And it successfully carried on to downloading the fonts. Not a major thing obviously, but not a very elegant thing...

I also have encountered this bug. This was on a clean install, not upgrade, of the final release of Jaunty 9.04 Kubuntu. The file system is the default Ext3. The machine is a Dell Inspiron 530 with 4Gig of RAM and an active internet connection via ethernet.

This may be a duplicate of bug 274421, which is on the list of bugs related to mscorefonts. In my attempted download, see previous message, there was the error 'ERROR -1: Malformed status line. --2009-04-26 13:56:47-- http://mesh.dl.sourceforge.net/sourceforge/corefonts/andale32.exe Resolving mesh.dl.sourceforge.net...'. This seems to be a common factor with 274421. I have uninstalled mscorefonts as the system was continually attempting to do the upgrade and it was affecting other upgrades. Hopefully, with the triaged fix for 274421, this problem will be resolved.

I found that when I re-installed (clean) everything worked well. I just cleaned my CD before reinstallation.

>sudo dpkg --configure -a
Listo!!!

Ahora yo tengo otro problema.
