memory management and error case handling seems a bit odd/incomplete in general ... here the set pixbuf seems to have

  height = -1

which makes us end up with strange things later on.

Hi Dave,

Can you describe a reproducible test case that exposes the bug? I've tried closing a PDF in evince at the same time I had a bubble on screen but that does not trigger the bug.

David: check out a few of the duplicates - there are a lot of different scenarios. For me it was always the following: download a file with the epiphany-browser - it will open a popup when the download is finished.

it happens after every download in epiphany-browser indeed

I', using mythbuntu 9.04 alpha 5. The bug shows up during a packet manager upgrade. Now packet manager does not work anymore... back to 8.10 & wait for a more stable release...
Good by all

I'm trying to reproduce this with epiphany now and work on a fix for it.

This bug was fixed in the package notify-osd - 0.9.3-0ubuntu1

---------------
notify-osd (0.9.3-0ubuntu1) jaunty; urgency=low

  * New upstream version:
    - don't crash on download notifications (lp: #332042)
    - correctly pass actions to the fallback (lp: #340773)
    - correctly namespace the capability names (lp: #340817)
