No we won't. :-)

build-essential is the only package assumed to be already installed when building a package from source. You could also say that this is the minimal requirement, and so you don't have to list it in build dependencies.

We'll just add a dependency to make in Dapper.

DEPENDS not BUILD-DEPENDS. :-)

but I'm happy with the 'make' solution as well.
