  * Merge from debian unstable, remaining changes: (LP: #299205)
    - Link using -Bsymbolic-functions.

lm-sensors-3 (1:3.0.2-2) unstable; urgency=low

  * Remove stop links from rc0 and rc6 (closes: bug#495547).
  * Add a NEWS.Debian file from libsensors4 explaining how to
    generate /etc/sensors3.conf from /etc/sensors.conf (closes:
    bug#496703).
  * Bumped Standards-version to 3.8.0
    - Add debian/README.source

Hi Didier,

-Wl,-Bsymbolic-functions is now the default value for LDFLAGS on Ubuntu buildds. Could this last delta simply be dropped, making this a sync request instead?

Nevermind - looked at the patch and I see that the build rules in question don't look at $LDFLAGS. :( Ok, will sponsor this merge, thanks.

Could this patch be generalized and sent upstream to Debian, perhaps by using $LDFLAGS instead of hard-coding the linker option?

Ok Steve. I will try to a make a diff against the debian version and use $LDFLAGS. I do not have time until next week and will ensure with you that everything is ok first :)
