Konsole does not remember window size

Bug Description

Binary package hint: kdebase

The fix in 4:4.1.2-0ubuntu2:

  * Add kubuntu_05_konsole_resize.diff stop konsole resizing,
    workaround http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=172042

Makes konsole start with the same size always! It's always 80x36.
Before it at least started at the size which the last konsole had.

Since konsole doesn't honour the --geometry as it should this is not that good, since now all new konsoles are at a predefined size, and it's not possible to configure it to start at any other size.

Works fine here. My custom-sized 90x22 konsole gets properly sized each launch.

OK, how do you start your konsole? Have you tried to resize it and
made sure it starts with it's new size?

it should be noted that as a temp fix it's possible to:

System settings -> Window Behavior -> Window-Specific Settings:
create a new rule for konsole new->detect press on konsole window
then change the size in geometry tab: apply initially <size> to
something other than the current size.

A proper fix for http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=172042 has been committed for KDE 4.1.3. We can remove our cruddy patch then and the fix will be released in intrepid-updates along with KDE 4.1.3
