Login reverts back to 'guest' when opening forum

Indeed it is FF 3.0.2.
And the error still occurs.

- Is the kubuntuforums you are referring to http://www.kubuntuforums.net ?
- Do you encounter this bug on other sites?
- Does this problem only happen when you use Firefox, not Epiphany or Konqueror?
- Does this problem still happen after deleting all private data including cache and cookies in Firefox?
- Can you reproduce this bug on another system?

I retested the problem again this morning.
I can log in and stay logged in with Konqueror.
I now can also log in and stay logged in with FF.

Looks to me like one of the most recent minor updates may have solved the issue. Glad at least one other person had the problem - otherwise I would think that I am dreaming.

Which other person are you referring to? I didn't experience this problem.

There was one person who said they also experienced this problem.
Guess I either erased the e-mail or it is related to Bug 253224 because the sender said he also has the problem.

Anyway, it appears to be fixed.
At least it worked this morning.

I hate to tell you: It hapened again.
Login to main forum menu is successful.
Move to 8.10, network forum, etc. results in: "Welcome Guest".

So whatever causes the problem, it is back.

I still encounter the problem. However, it seems to be related to the URL used to access the forum:

1. http://kubuntuforums.net/forums standard login, login from memory, user name stays.

2. http://www.kubuntuforum.net/ no login from memory, user name reverts to 'guest' when switching to a sub-forum.

The first URL does not produce the error. It also retains the user name/login name.

The URL with 'www' has the problem.

This is not a firefox bug
This is site problem as firefox does not control your status when logged into a site.
