Unnecessary dependency on csh

not a bug, marking invalid. If it says it need csh, i'm sure it does.

Thanks for your bug report. Unfortunately, brother packages really depends on csh because of some specific scripts (not all, but some). Brothers fault ;)

What does it need csh for? It is not used in any of the scripts as interpreter, not even the binary components contain the string "csh". Also csh has no dependencies except for libc, so it isn't used to pull in other dependencies. Neither does the csh package contain any file except for maybe csh itself, which could be usefull for a printer driver. And the original brother drivers did not depend on csh either, at least the ones for my model. But I also checked some of the scripts for other drivers as well and couldn't find any reference to csh.
Am I missing something or where does the csh-dependency come from? If you don't know where it comes from, please don't mark this bug as invalid.

Are any of the brother packages in the two packages I have mentioned? Because if they are not, couldn't the dependency be removed for these two packages?

After investigation, I confirm what Sebastian Keller said. There's actually only the -extra package which really needs to depend on csh. If after complete verifications, it is safe to remove the csh dependencies, we should do it.

I'll take care to fix this bug before intrepid final release, thanks for finding this!

Till Kamppeter : Can you review and upload my debdiff to intrepid? I don't provide a debdiff for -laser package because I asked FriedChicken to fix it at the same time than bug 206365.
