Bug Description

Binary package hint: rhythmbox

Just about any MTP operation with my Nokia N95 takes long enough that rhythmbox's window becomes unresponsive for quite a few seconds (e.g. even just plugging the device in causes it to lock up for about 30 seconds).

I'm experiencing the same behaviour, also with Nokia N95 and Rhythmbox 0.11.5 in Hardy Heron.

In Ubuntu 8.10 I've noticed that Rhythmbox and Pidgin are slow to respond when transferring many audio files over MTP to a Sansa Fuze. Usually Firefox, Gnome-terminal, and Gnome are unaffected. However, in the process of typing up this comment Gnome was temporarily unresponsive except for mouse movement and the caps-lock key.

The transfer rate is also really slow, and the percentage in the Rhythmbox window reads "(0%)" even after it has transferred a significant number of tracks.

This is not fixed as of Lucid with Version 0.12.8. Same freeze every time the device connects/updates/does anything at all.
