Bug Description

Binary package hint: firefox-3.0

"lightweight web browser based on Mozilla"

"Firefox 3 is the next major release of the standalone Mozilla browser; it is written in the XUL language and designed to be lightweight and cross-platform.

This browser was previously known as Firefox 2, Firebird and Phoenix.

Install this firefox package too, if you want to be automatically upgraded to new major firefox versions in the future."

We really can't claim firefox 3 is lightweight. It's notably slower on my celeron 1200 laptop, and epiphany is clearly more lightweight. It's lighter than the whole mozilla suite, but that is obviously more than a browser.

Thank you for your comments. However, this does not appear to be a bug report so we are closing it. We appreciate your thoughts, but it might make more sense to voice your opinion upstream. One place to try would be the forums at http://forums.mozillazine.org/.

It's a bug on the packaging. That is the description we use.

Agreed firefox isnt lightweight compared to epiphany but light to some other browsers, I agree maybe we can reword this a little bit. I assigned Mozilla bug team to this bug so it can be looked at closer since i dont have Ubuntu pc at hand.
