I found an upstream's patch that deals with this and other implicit warnings like :

audioEngine.c:85:1: warning: type of ‘fragSize’ defaults to ‘int’ [-Wimplicit-int]
   85 | initAudioDevice2(audioDev, devID, fragSize)
