Bug Description

Binary package hint: marble

Names of Lithuanian cities are incorrect (for example Šiauliai is named Shiauliai in Marble) - because of this some marble functions don't work, for example Wikipedia information (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shiauliai and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Šiauliai ).

I've found that bad names are listed cityplacemarks.kml file, so, I've fixed this and attaching cityplacemarks.kml.diff.gz file to this bugreport.

To get your fix included in Ubuntu, it would help if you tried transforming it into a debdiff (http://wiki.ubuntu.com/PackagingGuide/Recipes/Debdiff) and submit it for review (http://wiki.ubuntu.com/SponsorshipProcess). If you prefer somebody else to do that, that's fine - please just indicate if you're available to do that.

Sorry, I won't have free time for this in this month :( Please, someone, help to fix Lithuanian cities names in marble software.

If you're going to bump the standards version to 3.8.0, you have to comply with the new policy. Where is README.source?

Nathan,

Please file a bug in Debian with the patch (not the other changes). Let's see if Debian will upload the fix.

The Debian update that fixes this is a new upstream version. Can someone test
it?

I've checked all the cities listed in the diff, and the Wikipedia tab works for all except Telšiai, which appears as a few odd control-like characters on my screen. However, if I gunzip .marble/data/cache/wiki_Telšiai and open it in a browser, it looks fine. Can anybody else check if they're having the same problem?

Should be fixed in more recent versions of Marble.
