Bug Description

Binary package hint: net-retriever

Per bug #191224, net-retriever will not install packages from universe or multiverse, even if mirror/universe or mirror/multiverse is true. This is contrary to the documentation at help.ubuntu.com.

Incorporation of the attached patch will also close #191224, since rdate-udeb is in universe and clock-setup depends on it.

No need to nominate for Hardy. The current development release is always the default.

I am curious: What is the status of this bug?

Will this be incorporated in Hardy or not? I ask this since this is a bug fix instead of a feature request and a clear patch is offered.

It's in my queue ... but where are mirror/universe and mirror/multiverse coming from? Those questions don't exist as far as I know.

I'm going for a slightly different approach. With my forthcoming upload, you can boot with mirror/udeb/components=main,restricted,universe,multiverse and have it look in that list of components.

I don't think that it's appropriate to look in universe or multiverse for udebs by default, which is what using apt-setup/universe would do. That would have the effect of silently using universe installer components by default, in which case we might as well just move them to main; I suspect doing that wholesale would cause some difficulties.
