Bug Description

Binary package hint: wine

When I go to click on Wine under add/remove applications, it will not check the box. There is NOT a note saying "this is not available for your architecture" like there was under Feisty.

However, when I go to the terminal and type "apt-get install wine" it works just fine.

While I'm at it, I might as well change the package description text too

Confirmed on my machine.
Wine is listed in add/remove but it will not allow to check or uncheck the checkbox.
installing it via synaptic works and the checkbox is then checked in add/remove

It does appear to be. I have wine installed now because of the original apt-get trick, but when I go into add/remove I still can't uncheck the box - it just takes no action at all.

hi Michael,

could you elaborate on the problem itself? What was triggering this?

app-install-data-ubuntu contains extra overwrite information for some packages. This includes wine. The supported archicetures was encoded there and I forgot to update it when the amd64 version became available.
