Bug Description

Binary package hint: evolution

When in the contacts section of Evolution I was unable to edit new views.

To replicate this bug do the following.

-Open Evolution.
-Go to: Contacts section
- Go to: View >> Current View >> Define Views...
-Create a new view
-Try to edit the new view.

As you can see when you click the "Edit" button nothing happens. You can not edit the newly created view. For obvious reasons, default views can not be edited or deleted. But newly created views can not be edited for some reason. Maybe I'm missing something here.

Contact now are working properly with version 2.24.2. I am working with Intrepid I386.

But the problem still exists at the calendar view.

I am using Evolution 2.28.1 and the bug is there, please let me know what additional information you need. This address book is a imported address book from outlook. What I was trying to do is to create a view that I could print with only the info I require, like removing gender, initials, priority private, sensitivity, family name, given name, etc, .... Thought that view would do it for me like outlook.

gyme2, I overlooked that your problem is actually different to this bug. Upstream pointed me to bgo #556524, so you may follow the progress of your bug there. Thanks.

As far as the original bug is concerned, I can reproduce it, but only if you choose "Card View" when creating your own view. "Table" is not affected by this problem (evolution 2.28.1).

Uh, sorry. That should have been https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=556524. I had in mind launchpad automatically converts 'bgo #NO' to be a link to https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=NO'.

I think there were two parts to my original comment:
1. Define a new view say "newview" and then click edit and nothing happens the menu just stays there.
2. The second was #556524

View ->Current View->Define Views

New : Name Appel
          Type Month View

Apple appears in Define Views For Calendar
click edit button on right
Nothing happens

delete Apple

make Banana of type Table
the moment I click OK it comes up with a list of fields to edit.

So trying to make your own Monthly view (or if I read above and other correct anything but a table view) is not possible.
