Bug Description
Binary package hint: mythtv
It appears that mythfrontend does not function properly with xscreensaver, only gnome-screensaver. It should be made to adapt to either screensaver daemon for compatibility with xubuntu and other lightweight derivatives.
The issue is likely with the 04_gnomescreens
There are reasons not to use gnome-screensaver, even in gnome. One reason I found is that when using nvidia-settings to adjust the color, gamma, etc., those settings are often lost when gnome-screensaver goes active.
