Bug Description

Binary package hint: gnome-panel

I just installed gutsy i386 desktop from the d-i cd 20070808.

I right-clicked on the "one computer behind another" icon in the top right, and selected (i) Connection Information. A window appeared titled Active Connection Information.

However, the information here is wrong. The Interface, Speed, Driver, IP Address and Hardware Address are correct. But the Broadcast Address, Subnet Mask, Default Route and Primary and Secondary DNS are all showing as 0.0.0.0.

ifconfig shows the correct values for 172.18.45.41/24; /etc/resolv.conf shows the nameservers as 172.18.45.6 and .11 as expected; route -vn shows the default gateway as 172.18.45.11 as expected.

OK, I assume its configured as auto + dhcp in /etc/network/interfaces
... if so, please try if removing the interface completely from
interfaces and restarting your system helps.
