I could reproduce this bug with a fresh karmic beta install + all updates.
But on my computer it consumes not only cpu, but also all memory (8 Gig) and take the swap, after 3 Gig of swap I killed firefox.
After disabling the bindwood plugin via the safe mode feature, firefox works again.
I have 150-200 bookmarks in 25-30 folders with maximum hierarchy depth of 4.
