I'd like to add my voice to asking for better support for FFM. It's /the/ usability reason for my choosing to work on Linux, and is getting to be /the/ reason for not using Unity (I have technical reasons for working on Linux, too, but they don't count much in a usability context).
I'd be happy enough if Unity simply did not put the menu into the global menu bar if FFM is enabled. That shouldn't be too hard to do, presumably, as standard GNOME can do it just fine.
