Did the link to my xorg.conf that I included in the initial bug report not work for you? I'm uploading it here, just in case.
FWIW I use the internal LCD + analog VGA port. I understand that dual-head LCD + DVI was not supported by the radeon driver a while ago. I do not know if that has been fixed since.
