currently I am using
sudo setpci -s 00:02.0 F4.B=80
to change backlight control.

Well, actually I use lirc daemon to intercept fn-keys and call a
following bash script when screen brightness fn-keys are pressed)

var2=`cat /sys/class/backlight/acpi_video0/actual_brightness`

yep, it works :)
