I have an Jujitsu Siemens external monitor connected to my Samsung laptop. Bevore I upgraded Ubuntu, the monitor worked fine. Now I'm stuck to my laptop monitor and can't use the external monitor. Got the same error:

[drm:drm_edid_block_valid] *ERROR* EDID checksum is invalid, remainder is 254
i915 0000:00:02.0: HDMI-A-1: EDID block 0 invalid.

This is a pretty annoying bug...
