Thomas Hood:
I must decline that this is fixed.
How my system is setup:
Ubuntu 12.04.3 LTS Server minimal installed.
I have booted a system without /etc/network/interfaces.
I created /etc/network/interfaces, than I ran ifup eth0 which should bring up eth0 device and trigger resolvconf package
to check for new entries to add to resolv.conf.
ifup works, the ip-address and routes get assigned, however the dns-nameservers do not get assigned.
apt-cache showpkg resolvconf shows me the version: 1.63ubuntu16
