@Ubunteros: can I do anything to get this in for Lucid? Look out for a sponsor, do some bikesheding on the package, anything?
Lucid is a LTS release and expected to be more stable than other releases. And this is a genuine regression compared to the last LTS. I understand that resolvconf is in universe and not part of the supported core, and that's the reason why I try to help out.
So I repeat my request: Please give me any hints on how to enhance the chances of this (or another) fix be included in Lucid.

Thanx for this great distribution, anyway;-)
