Both options behave a bit strange: With:
"options snd-hda-intel model=olpc-xo-1_5,dell-vostro
I got jack sensitive stereo sound on headphone. After unplug I had sound on speaker again. After a 2nd plugin/plugout I have no speaker sound anymore - until reboot. After reboot the sound jack sensing doesn't work anymore.

But if I remember right, I had the same issue with your first option, that it is not working anymore.

The other problem is to mix the right channel to the only available one speaker. And not to forget the micro
