Comment 238 for bug 445849

Running Natty Beta 2 and experiencing a similar problem, though it seems to be slightly different than the original description. My 5.1 surround sound system seems to rattle only when my volume is lower than the maximum; so long as I keep it on max and adjust the volume of individual applications I do not hear the rattle.

Is there some way to resolve this on Natty? My driver is an ALC888. Don't know if that makes any difference.
