Which channel does your network use?

I used channel 13 (that worked in hardy) but it seams to be that it doesn't work in intrepid, because it is a passive channel.
Try 'iwlist channel' and look if at least your channel is visible for your card.
After changing the router to a visible channel it worked without a problem.
