http://www.eduroam.org/ - note there isn't one single eduroam configuration --
I've seen setups using EAP/TLS (certificates), and I've seen setups using
PEAP/MSCHAPv2 (with login/password).

Side remark, considering how long such bugs have been open (and even Fedora 14
at point of this writing still can't connect to hidden SSID WiFi networks
without entering the root password):
  This whole NetworkManager stuff is inflicted on the world prematurely. It's
supposed to make things simple, but in practice, it's often so much more
complicated than just editing a static wpa_supplicant.conf, and if one finds
that NM is failing, it's a major hassle to get rid of and around it.
