There are a couple of stable commits in 2.6.38-11.47 that look promising:

NFSv4.1: Fix the handling of NFS4ERR_SEQ_MISORDERED errors
NFSv4: Handle expired stateids when the lease is still valid

Either subscribe to -proposed or pull a kernel directly from https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/2.6.38-11.47
