I run that kernel module (20110915) fine on ubuntu 12.04. What I could use is a confirmation (!).

Check the vhba version to see if it is not an old one:
dpkg -l vhba-dkms

Then post the new crash message here. If it doesn't read "vhba_ctl_read" it's not the same bug.
