Same problem with a simple USB webcam on Ubuntu 20.04.4 LTS, 5.4.0-100-generic x86_64 kernel. I get these kind of messages on dmesg:

uvcvideo: Failed to set UVC probe control : -110 (exp. 26).
uvcvideo: Failed to query (130) UVC probe control : -32 (exp. 26).
