Following my previous comment: this seems to be a hardware bug related to the USB receiver itself. Apparently, when I push it as far as possible into the USB plug, it goes *too* far and disconnects. If I pull it a little, it reconnects.

Still to be confirmed next time I reboot on Windows (may take a while ;-)
