Comment 2 for bug 681803

I have encountered a the same problem with Ubuntu Server 11.04 64 bit on a clean install with a Alcor Micro Corp. card reader. On a previous installation of Ubuntu Server 10.04.0 64 bit the card reader worked fine. Some where between 10.04.1 and 10.04.2 it stopped working. Yesterday I had it working after following these instructions:

modprobe usb_storage
echo usb_storage >> /etc/modules

Today it is not working. The server is shutdown every night and booted in the morning. I have run the modprobe usb_storage command and still nothing.
