There is a thread on the linux-wireless list that sounds like it might fix this problem, see http://www.spinics.net/lists/linux-wireless/msg53115.html and especially http://www.spinics.net/lists/linux-wireless/msg53204.html ("The patch lets me use wifi"). I have not yet actually tested this patch though (as I do not remember how to conveniently and sanely build just the affected module with the patch applied).
