Kernel update = Negative results again :(

I ran the update manager, which updated my Dell Insipiron Mini 1012 (BIOS version A07),
from Kernel version 2.6.35-22 to 2.6.35-23
Sadly, the screen persists in staying off when I resume from a suspend.
