Comment 9 for bug 598645

Hello. Is there any chance of resolving this in 10.04 (LTS), e.g by backporting the fix from 10.10?

I have a Compaq Mini 110c-1100CA. I have to use fn-f1 to suspend before closing the lid (a tip that I'd found on a forum) or fn-f3 or fn-f4 after re-opening the lid to turn on the back-light (as noted above). It becomes tedious after a few months.

Still, I would prefer not to trade this annoyance for all the reported issues with the new Netbook Edition user interface, Unity, in 10.10. The Netbook Edition interface in 10.04 works OK for me except for this issue.
