This bug was solved for me when applying a patch proposed for a different bug : https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-input-synaptics/+bug/380126 (problem with the synaptic touchpad on the same computer model.
Apparenlty it is due to bad interrupts by the touchpad.
