I may be onto something here. At least I haven't seen it now for a week since i disabled mouse gestures. I'm a heavy gesture user especially in browsers and use them without really thinking. Somehow I had the feeling that I had always done something in Firefox, Konqueror or Rekonq when the mouse died. So, i disabled gestured (System settings -> Input Actions -> Gestures) and haven't seen it since.

If I still see the error I'll mention it here, but it seems to not be related to anything as low level as the kernel, but more a desktop problem.
