On A side note I am not sure if it is nouveau fault I have a few different models of nvidia cards so I thought I would do a few test cases to see if I can reproduce the issue.

(system 1) Works fine
$lspci |grep nVidia
01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: nVidia Corporation NV43 [GeForce Go 6600] (rev a2) Launched Successfully.

(system 2) Works fine.
$lspci |grep nVidia
01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: nVidia Corporation G84 [GeForce 8600M GT]
