(finally) I've successfully tested this kernel with the 8k and 16k firmware versions.
Fine print ...
I used an x86 laptop installed with kinky koala, to verify functionality I used mplayer tuning into both analog and digital canadian broadcast channels. I've not tried this under mythtv, or for any length of time.
